Our Story
Colorful Markets began with a simple observation: while tourists flocked to Australia's beaches and outback, many were missing out on one of the country's most vibrant cultural experiences – our incredible fruit markets.
Our founder, Emma Thompson, grew up visiting Sydney Markets with her grandparents who were fruit vendors. After traveling abroad and seeing how food markets were celebrated worldwide, she returned to Australia determined to showcase our unique market culture.
Starting with just two tour guides and a passion for Australian produce, Colorful Markets launched its first tour at Sydney Markets in 2015. Word quickly spread about our engaging, educational, and delicious experiences, leading to expansion into other major markets across Australia.
Today, we're proud to employ a team of knowledgeable guides who share our commitment to celebrating Australia's agricultural diversity and market culture.
